The Intern Goals of Diversity
My goal as an intern would be to seek out diverse viewpoints and experience within my field. You could do this by actively seeking to collaborate with people or organizations from a variety of backgrounds, as well looking out for ways you can learn about the challenges and perspectives these individuals face. As an intern, I want to work actively to advance and promote human rights in my practice. It could include advocating and supporting policies that ensure equal access for all people, and actively looking for volunteer and community service opportunities that support marginalized and disadvantaged communities. As an intern, I want to increase my knowledge and understanding of the research that is relevant to my work. It could mean staying current on research happening in my area, learning new techniques and methodologies, as well as actively looking for opportunities to use research results to improve my practice. A second goal is to learn and improve my abilities in using and conducting research in my work.
