Create an infographic.
An infographic about global warming was what I decided to create. There were many design options available to me when creating this infographic. First, I chose a colour palette that included blues and greens in order to communicate a sense for nature and environmental consciousness. To make it easy to read, I used a clean and simple font. The data was illustrated using a mix of line graphs, bar charts and pie charts (Jones 2019). A bar chart I made using R showed the average global temperature over the last 100 years. A line graph was also created to display the sea level rise over the same period. A pie chart was used to show the contribution of human activities to overall global temperature rises. I combined these design methods to create a visually appealing and informative infographic about global warming. The infographic included visual elements as well an explanation of data sources, and in-text citations. Data sources were the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. (Jones 2019, 2019). Two in-text citations to IPCC papers were provided.
