Memory Accuracy Factor
Russ Dewey, in his book “Psychology. An Introduction” (2019), explains that memory does not accurately record events. It is a reconstruction which can be affected by many factors. Time can affect the quality of our memories. Memory accuracy and even distortion can occur as memories become more accurate with the passage of time. Emotional state of the person at time of retrieval and encoding can have an impact on the quality of their memories.
