Steve Jobs, full name Steven Paul Jobs, was a charismatic pioneer of the PC era and co-founder of Apple Inc. Jobs was born February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California and died October 5, 2011 in Palo Alto, California. Jobs was raised by adoptive parents in Cupertino, California, in what is now Silicon Valley. In addition to his interest in technology, he has a variety of youth interests. In early 1974, he landed a job as a video game designer at Atari in Portland, Oregon, dropped out of Reed College, and used his life savings to fund a spiritual trip to India.
