How Environmental Toxins Affect Human Activity
Toxicology is the study of the effects and sources of harmful chemicals on the environment. Neglecting to regulate human activity (e.g., the release of chemicals from agriculture and industry) can lead to devastating effects on the environment and health of all living creatures. Toxins have two main effects: they can cause ecological damage as well as human health problems. The damage to an ecosystem caused by toxic chemicals is called ecological damage. It can lead to changes in an ecosystem’s biodiversity, habitat destruction, or alterations in its food chain. The effects of agricultural runoff can have a long-term and wide-ranging impact. This is evident in the Baltic Sea marine environment, which has seen a change in species composition (Kangas, et al. 2016). Health risks for human beings refer to the possibility that toxins could cause diseases or other health problems. Research has shown that environmental toxins may cause various health issues, such as cancer and neurological damage. Environmental toxins may also lead to food insecurity and increased spread of communicable illnesses. Cont…
