Assessing Apple’s Shift in Production
Apple’s strategic move to shift production from China to India can now be assessed using the External Factor Evaluation(EFE) and Internal Factor Evaluation(IFE) spreadsheets, as well as the Competitive Profile Matrix. According to the EFE matrix, one of the external factors that may have influenced Apple’s decision to shift production to India is the ongoing issues at its factories in China, such as labor disputes and supply chain disruptions (Wiralestari & Riski, 2019). Apple may have sought alternative locations to produce in China to lessen its dependence on China, and to mitigate risks of doing business in China.
