The Patient Priority Problem is: A chronic pain from arthritis that affects older adults
The goal is to reduce pain and increase mobility. Interventions in nursing:
1. Educate the patient on the importance of proper pain management and the use of assistive devices to increase mobility (Yates & Manias, 2017).
2. Assess the patient’s pain and track the patient’s response to interventions to determine the effectiveness of the interventions (Yates & Manias, 2017).
3. Implement a physical activity program tailored to the patient’s individual needs to improve joint range of motion and muscle strength (Yates & Manias, 2017). The goal of this integrative care plan is to reduce the patient’s chronic arthritis pain and increase their functional mobility. The nurse should educate the patient about pain management techniques and assistive devices. Additionally, the nurse must assess the patient’s pain and track their response to interventions. Lastly, the nurse must implement a physical activity program tailored to the patient’s individual needs to improve joint range of motion and muscle strength. This integrative plan allows the nurse to ensure that patient gets the best care possible.
