Personality and Motivation Identification
Their “moral personality”, a unique combination of traits and character characteristics, is what identifies a person. This includes characteristics like empathy, compassion, honesty, simplicity, and equity (Haidt 2020). Motivation refers to an internal force that drives someone to act or to work towards achieving a goal. It is possible for external forces, such as rewards or incentives, or internal elements, such as personal values, to be the driving force behind it (Deci & Ryan, 2019). What is “identity”? It refers to a person’s view of themselves and what they think others see about them. This is formed by not only one’s experiences, but also the cultural context in which they live (Erikson 2019, 2019). A person’s motivation and morality, as well as their identity, all influence their behavior and decisions.
