Melisa is an 8 year old 3rd grade student who has just returned to school after tragically losing her mother in an accident about a month ago. Although Melissa was once a happy girl, she has recently become isolated from her family and friends. Despite her close relationship with her father, he hasn’t cheered her up in a while. Melissa has trouble sleeping, getting over-excited, and reliving the accident. She was also involved in the accident that killed her mother, but was not injured. It’s been three months now and her symptoms are getting worse. The school psychologist recommended her for traumatic grief intervention.
