This tool contains 21 items corresponding to major depressive symptoms such as: B. Cognitions such as dysphoria, guilt, somatic symptoms, etc. Each of the 21 items corresponding to depressive symptoms is added to produce a single score on the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II). Each item has a four-point scale from 0 to 3. Two items (16 and 18) have seven options to indicate an increase or decrease in appetite and sleep. Guidance is provided for the cut-off score of the BDI-II, and it is recommended to adjust the threshold according to the characteristics of the sample and the intended use of the BDI-II. A total score of 0-13 is considered the minimal range, 14-19 mild, 20-28 moderate, and 29-63 severe (American Psychological Association, 2020).
