External Community Services as Support for Struggling Youth: What Role Does This Play?
The external community can be a crucial part of helping troubled youth. External community services can be a valuable resource for young people who need support, guidance and resources. Two key factors must be considered in order for external community services to function effectively: personnel and infrastructure. To support youth, infrastructure must be in place. Access to the right resources and facilities, such as counseling and mental health services for youth, drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs and youth development programs must be available (Metcalf 2016). These services should be accessible to all young people, even those in remote areas (McNamara and co.,2021).
It is also important to make sure that staff are competently qualified to provide support for young people. This means that there are enough people who have the right training and work with young children (Larney et. al., 2018).
