If you or your child has symptoms of ADHD but has not been diagnosed to determine if treatment is needed, consult a doctor (Fields, 2019). ADHD can lead to lifelong problems if left untreated. Because of their impulsivity and short attention span, people with ADHD may find it harder to succeed in relationships, work, school, and other areas of life. Students with untreated ADHD may not be able to remember what they have learned in class because ADHD can make it difficult for children to pay attention in class.
